I’d like to put the Filter on my homepage. This way visitors can start looking for products that interests them right away. Perhaps an easy way to do this is to have a Filter Widget so you can put it in the notification widget area. And a vertical Filter widget would be great for in the sidebar.

Also, I’d like to be able to use dropdown menus in the Filter. Adding a lot off options to a filter may make it very long and have it take up a lot of room on the page. Adding dropdown menus saves a lot off space.
